May- onwards and upwards!

I’ve only re-discovered art recently, after many years of pushing it to the side in pursuit of the sciences. It came rather out of the blue when I decided to pick a paintbrush up for the first time after a long hiatus, and soon after I found myself taking my first commission and eventually taking the leap to leaving my job in order to pursue the arts.

Acrylics and oils seem to be my go-to medium, but the subject matter itself is ever evolving as I find what really sings to me when I paint. Moody landscapes and misty windowpanes captivate me, and while I don’t want to commit myself to any one style prematurely, there is an undeniable power in pairing cool greys and a cold atmosphere with vivid colours and a dramatic composition.

New Zealand provides endless inspiration for my artistic pursuits, and I am proud to call this place my home.
